Nourish & Nurture is a newsletter focused on creating a sustainable recovery from eating disorders, disordered eating, or anyone wanting a better relationship with food. I write about using nervous system regulation, nutrition, body image support, and a holistic, whole person focus to support your recovery.

We’ll look at recovery from different angles, including nervous system regulation and the polyvagal theory, diet culture and body liberation, nutrition to support mental health, digestive health and eating disorders, and how to put recovery into practice in your life. You may find it supportive regardless of where you are in your recovery journey, or if you are a parent, friend, or family member of someone in recovery.

Each month, I’ll publish 2-4 posts that will be on Substack and delivered into your inbox if you subscribe below.

I’m writing here because these are topics that come up all the time in my client sessions, or are thoughts that we may not have time to get to in sessions. While I encourage working with a treatment team, including a dietitian, during your recovery, I understand that it may not be accessible to everyone or not everyone is ready to take that step.

About Lauren Haughey, RD, CEDS-S

I am an eating disorder and non-diet Registered Dietitian. I help clients develop a relationship with food and their body that is more flexible and peaceful. My hope is to help you feel nourished from food, so you have time and energy to live a full life. I also enjoy working from a weight-inclusive, integrative, and functional nutrition approach to support digestive health, specific conditions, and overall wellbeing.

On a clinical level, I work with my clients in my private practice to support eating disorder and disordered eating recovery, body image healing, or digestive health and other conditions through a weight-inclusive lenses.

On a personal level, I am a new mom. My family and I love spending time in nature, exploring Vermont and traveling, and trying to train our two wild dogs. I am always up for learning something new.
